Yukon Charlie's was founded in 1996 by Bill LaPierre Sr., a man who'd spent his whole life working in business and loving the outdoors. LaPierre saw an opportunity during the mid to late 1990's to further develop the snowshoeing craze and bring it to larger fanbase by making the shoes more affordable. When the company was formed, the least expensive snowshoes on the market generally exceeded $150. LaPierre thought he could do better. In the more than fifteen years since Yukon Charlie's inception, the company has grown by leaps and bounds, always adhering to that first goal of bringing high quality snowshoes to the masses at a less expensive price.
